The Prophetic Life State University is a Kingdom Life church-controlled registered corporation. We are a school affiliated with a church-based organization. We are operated by The Great House Ministries, International, Inc. We are affiliated with one or more churches or church denominations and a bonafide 501c3 Tax-exempt Organization according to IRS codes. We are a group engaged in an exclusive biblical literacy Christian church activity of the charismatic prophetic movement within the body of the global church constituency.

We have been built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ Himself being the chief cornerstone. We prepare learners to become global citizens, critical thinkers, effective communicators, and responsible leaders by providing an academically challenging, values-based curriculum from the context of our Christian heritage.

The curriculum at PLSU is designed to prepare students with the skills and knowledge needed in the contemporary job market. Students are challenged to develop these tools and to push their intellectual limits in order to become successful in their careers. In addition, the curriculum fosters personal discovery. We are a church-controlled organization which is a branch of our church as a private Christian school, embracing the five gifts given to the Church by Jesus Christ.

PURPOSE

Our universe is built on God’s word and by faith, we understand the universe was formed at God’s word. Today, we embark on a joint-ideas, PLSU University to build a premier private-public (PPP) Christian University. The mission of The Prophetic Life State University is to provide accessible, affordable, innovative, high-quality learning opportunities and degree programs that meet the diverse needs of individuals pursuing integrity in their lives, professions, and communities. The Prophetic Life State University aims to achieve student success by developing informed and creative students capable of contributing to a knowledge- and service-based global society. As a private university accredited to offer associate degrees, selected baccalaureate degrees, and certificate programs, the institution and its District Board of Trustees are committed to fostering a learning-centered university that celebrates diversity and inclusion by empowering and engaging students, faculty, and staff.

VISION

The Prophetic Life State University is a premier private-public (PPP) Christian university educating people to lead and serve. Private universities are typically not operated by governments, although many receive tax breaks, public student loans, and grants. Depending on their location, private universities may be subject to government regulation. This is in contrast to public universities and national universities. Most private universities are non-profit organizations. A public university is a university that is publicly owned or receives significant public funds through a national or subnational government, as opposed to a private university. Whether a national university is considered public varies from one country to another, largely depending on the specific education landscape. A land-grant university (also called land-grant college or land-grant institution) is an institution of higher education in the United States designated by a state to receive the benefits of the Morrill Acts of 1862 and 1890.

The Morrill Acts funded educational institutions by granting federally controlled land to the states for them to sell, to raise funds, to establish and endow “land-grant” colleges. The mission of these institutions as set forth in the 1862 Act is to focus on the teaching of practical agriculture, science, military science, and engineering (though “without excluding… classical studies”), as a response to the industrial revolution and changing social class. This mission contrasted with the historic practice of higher education to focus on an abstract liberal arts curriculum. A 1994 expansion gave land grant status to several tribal colleges and universities.

Ultimately, most land-grant colleges became large public universities that today offer a full spectrum of educational opportunities. However, some land-grant colleges are private schools, including Cornell University, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and Tuskegee University. A second Morrill Act was passed in 1890, aimed at the former Confederate states. This act required each state to show that race was not an admissions criterion, or else to designate a separate land-grant institution for persons of color. Among the seventy colleges and universities which eventually evolved from the Morrill Acts are several of today’s historically black colleges and universities. Though the 1890 Act granted cash instead of land, it granted colleges under that act the same legal standing as the 1862 Act colleges; hence, the term “land-grant college” properly applies to both groups.

Later, other colleges such as the University of the District of Columbia and the “1994 land-grant colleges” for Native Americans were also awarded cash by Congress in lieu of land to achieve “land-grant” status. In imitation of the land-grant colleges’ focus on agricultural and mechanical research, Congress later established programs of sea grant colleges (aquatic research, in 1966), space grant colleges (space research, in 1988), and sun grant colleges (sustainable energy research, in 2003).

West Virginia State University, a historically black university, is the only current land-grant university to have lost land-grant status (when desegregation cost it its state funding in 1957) and then subsequently regained it, which happened in 2001. The land-grant college system has been seen as a major contributor in the faster growth rate of the US economy that led to its overtaking the United Kingdom as an economic superpower, according to economists from the State University of New York.

Global Citizens

Are those who learn with empathy, avoid ethnocentrism, and embrace the reality that people are different with different perspectives on history, religion, value systems, and many other aspects of life and living. Global citizenship means that by understanding others, one can understand himself or herself. Romans 10:12b “The same Lord is Lord of all and richly blesses all who call on Him.”

Critical Thinkers

Are those who work to master clarity and logic in thought by asking questions and pursuing knowledge to avoid delusion and blind acceptance of ideas, to reduce vulnerability, and to work to find solutions rather than dwell on problems. 2 Timothy 2:15 “Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a workman who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth.”

Effective Communicators

Are those who work toward and develop excellence in proficient language use, understand how the written word impacts others intellectually and emotionally, and are challenged to employ new venues or modes of communication.

BEING A PART OF THE STATE UNIVERSITY SYSTEM

A state university system in the United States is a group of public universities supported by an individual state or a similar entity such as the District of Columbia. These systems constitute the majority of public-funded universities in the country. Each state supports at least one such system. State university systems should not be confused with federally funded colleges and universities, at which attendance is limited to military personnel and government employees. Members of foreign militaries and governments also attend some schools. These schools include the United States service academies, Naval Postgraduate School, and military staff colleges. A state university system normally means a single legal entity and administration, but may consist of several institutions, each with its own identity as a university. Some states—such as California and Texas—support more than one such system.

State universities get subsidies from their states. The amount of the subsidy varies from university to university and state to state, but the effect is to lower tuition costs below that of private universities for students from that state or district. As more and more Americans attend college, and private tuition rates increase well beyond the rate of inflation, admission to state universities is becoming more and more competitive.

In the age when the greatest hunger is a hunger for effective leadership and for the Word of God. In an era when many have been bereft of understanding revealed spiritual authority, when many have designed a way so crooked and corrupt it repulses the hearts from turning to the heart; and when rogues have manipulated and appointed themselves leadership by their own arrogance, and when many are blinded by an elegance to a fading glory. In a period when pseudo and quasi-bound by psychic phenomenon wants to rule the airwaves, control the marketplace and rule the lands. It is important to know that God has not left us without a witness; He knows how to deliver the Godly out of temptation, and He has appointed some, the spiritually mature to discern times and seasons.
